Let the adventure begin

Hi! welcome to my first blog!!!
Let the adventure begin!
I have created 2 checklists before you book and once you have booked! To ensure you all feel at ease and don't forget a thing!
Cancellations + the smallest changes come with fees. I will update this blog accordingly with new updates as best as possible! Enjoy reading, Tasha x
Before you book!
Entry requirements- Some destinations will require visas, travel vaccines, documentation e.g health or money declarations and so on. Also check everyone's passport validity!
The most up-to-date entry requirements can be found on gov.uk travel advice/entry requirements.

Prices- Can you find a better deal? Many travel companies will sell the same packages at different prices!
Is something missing/extra included e.g coach transfers/extra luggage? Can you get better flight times with another airline?

Accommodation- Don't rush into booking look into the hotel! Check: hotel facilities is there a good choice of restaurants or do you prefer to eat out?
Also, some hotels may have restaurants part of an a la carte which means you may only be able to eat there once per stay for free. Check your room, in-room facilities and your view! I recommend Trip advisor for up-to-date reviews and pictures!

Location- As well as what the hotel has to offer, where is it? Always check the location!
Check the transfer time from the airport and how far local amenities are including: restaurants, shops and the beach. (You may be able to catch a hotel shuttle bus to the beach/ local town.)

Tourist tax/ Hotel tax- Some destinations will require a small tax to be paid upon arrival at the airport or check-in at your hotel.
At most, it can be per person per room per night, or just per room per night. For some destinations you will find tourist tax included in your package.

Special requests- Are you travelling for a special occasion? e.g honeymoon, anniversary, birthday.
If you booked your trip through a tour operator they can contact your hotel to put in your special requests/email the hotel yourself with your booking reference, name and date of check-in.
Please be aware special requests are not guaranteed.

Now you are all booked!
Start your countdown and next steps...

Travel insurance- It is really important to take out travel insurance as soon as possible!
Check different companies and make sure you are happy with the policy and what you are covered for!

Holiday Extras- When can you select your flight seats? Do you need to upgrade your luggage allowance? Car parking at the airport, or do you need to book a taxi?
You can also pre-book an airport lounge or fast track security! I recommend Holiday Extras you can book extras on their website and it gives you a variety of options to make your holiday hassle-free!

Booking trips- You can pre-book a tour of the old town, a 4x4 safari adventure, scuba diving to a boat trip and much more. To give you more to look forward to and experience your destination.
I recommend pre-booking to guarantee availability!

Spending money- There will be so much you want to see and do! From tasting the local cuisine, shopping for souvenirs to exploring the culture, water sports and more.
I recommend TUI's Multi Currency card. You can purchase one through your local TUI Store, This is my go to always abroad!

Travel Advice- Keep updated with travel advice/requirements through gov.uk and your tour operator.
As travel requirements are possible to change between the time of booking your trip and travelling. Book any travel vaccines needed and purchase visas.

Documents;
Booking confirmation printed/on your phone some destinations will require proof of your travel details upon arrival.Online check-in before you travel as this will give you access to your boarding passes + flight seats. For some airlines its mandatory to complete before arriving at the airport (check with your airline)
Extras e.g car parking confirmation to show when you arrive.

Last minute reminders- You could learn a few keywords to put into action, leave space in your suitcase for souvenirs, create a holiday music playlist for your flight and sunbathing time, check you have enough storage for photos and last but not least don't forget your sun cream/mosquito repellent!

Enjoy your travels!
I hope you have taken something away from my travel checklists and you feel more at ease.
If everything is ticked off you are good to go!
